PENDAMPINGAN PENDIDIK DALAM PENERAPAN RWIM-MALL MODEL UNTUK PENGUATAN VOCABULARY RETENTION SISWA EFL DI SD–SMP SATAP NEGERI 05 TONTONUNU
Abstract
Penguasaan kosakata merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing (English as a Foreign Language/EFL), khususnya di daerah rural yang masih menghadapi keterbatasan dalam pemanfaatan teknologi pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal di SD–SMP Satap Negeri 05 Tontonunu, diketahui bahwa sebagian besar guru masih menggunakan metode konvensional sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya motivasi dan retensi kosakata siswa. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pendidik dalam menerapkan model Rural Wisdom Integrated Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (RWIM-MALL) yang mengintegrasikan teknologi mobile dengan konteks kearifan lokal. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui pelatihan intensif selama satu hari yang meliputi tahap sosialisasi, workshop penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran, praktik microteaching, dan evaluasi. Peserta kegiatan berjumlah 25 guru dari jenjang SD, SMP, dan SMA di Kecamatan Tontonunu. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kompetensi guru sebesar 36%, serta peningkatan motivasi, keaktifan, dan retensi kosakata siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Dengan demikian, model RWIM-MALL efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran EFL berbasis teknologi yang kontekstual di daerah.
